Laura and Sean were married last August, and Chris and I were so excited to do an anniversary photo shoot in Paris with them. Paris is easily my favorite city in the entire world. There’s truly no other place like it, and as someone who enjoys art, fashion and amazing pastries it feels like a second home! I’ve gotten distracted by looking up flights to Paris twice while trying to write this blog post already.
When I think of Paris one thing always comes to mind, and I’m sure you can guess what it is. The Eiffel Tower, of course! And, of course, the Eiffel Tower is one of the most photographed destinations in the world. During the day it’s extremely crowded, especially during the summer. Chris and I found that there’s one easy way to avoid crowds in a city with a nightlife as vibrant as the one in Paris… go at sunrise!
Lucky for us (sort of), Laura and Sean are early risers and sunrise wasn’t daunting for them. Chris and I may have struggled to wake up and jump on the train, but as soon as the Eiffel Tower came into view we knew it would be worth it. At sunrise, the only other people at the tower are photographers and their subjects, and they’re usually far and few between.
Even if you’re not having your photo taken, I highly recommend seeing the Eiffel Tower during sunrise at least once. Grab a croissant and an espresso and watch the city come to life. It’s truly a beautiful and unforgettable experience. Chris and I loved it so much, we actually did it twice, and we’re huge night owls!
Paris really is always a good idea. Happy Anniversary Laura and Sean!
