Nick and Kayla’s Downtown Hartford Engagement Session Chris and I have been looking forward to this session since meeting Nick and Kayla a few months ago! They had been dreaming about having an engagement session […]
Chris and I were so excited when we first met with Steven and Emily. Both of them teach at the school we graduated from (and where Chris and I met!) and we had our first meeting with them on campus. It was so nostalgic for Chris and I to be on the campus where we met more than ten (!) years ago. When Steven told us their romantic proposal story (think beautiful Connecticut woods and fairy lights) we knew their vision for their wedding was going to be just as amazing.
Philip and Tessa met when her sister Sophie married Philip's best childhood friend Gregory in Oxford, England. They didn't begin dating until much later, and during a family trip to the Abruzzo region of Italy. (Where Philip's Italian side of the family were originally from) It didn't take much longer for them to realize they had fallen head over heels for one another. The combination of Italian and English may sound like an odd one at first, but Philip and Tessa are a match made in heaven, and I can't explain it better than the words of the bride herself:
We had our most recent Epic Engagement session with Emily and Steven, who are both teachers at the school where Chris and I met! Steven has such a contagious laugh that Chris and I both were grinning like fools for the entire session, so it's no surprise there are a lot of photos with laughter in them.
Chris and I visited Santa Monica this year for Jennie and Brian's wedding. We fell in love with California, even LA with its legendary traffic. I'm not sure if it was the incredible weather or the contagious California good vibes but I'm already itching to go back. I'm sharing all about our day in Santa Monica and our favorite spots that we tried!
We're so excited to share this engagement session, Chris and I knew Julia way back in high school, and it's so amazing to see someone you grew up with find someone that's perfect for them! Julia and Scott met in beautiful St. Thomas where he was working as a scuba instructor. This sounds like the perfect plot for a rom com, but it's real life guys, I promise.
Once upon a time, I took photos of Samantha, Mike, and their pup Simon at Hogwarts. There was a castle, bustling students, and magical corners of light to be found. OK, to be honest this session wasn’t Harry Potter themed at all, but the reason I’ve been wanting to use Yale as a location for a shoot is because the buildings look straight out of Hogwarts! Massive stone structures and cobblestone streets create a magical place that’s one of the best spots for photos in CT.
A blush pink wedding dress, breezy California weather, and fresh homemade tacos. Could it get any better? Jennie and Brian’s Santa Monica wedding was the perfect combination of casual and elegant, with so many special details made possible by their friends and family. The bride wore a stunning blush pink gown from BHLDN and a soft, romantic updo. And I can't even handle this living succulent wall by Lilla Bello. OF COURSE we had to do bridal portraits of Jennie in front of these.
Hartford has some of the best locations for engagement or couple’s photos, especially if you’re interested in something different than the usual woodsy Connecticut sessions. I love the greenery and woods that Connecticut offers, but Hartford has beautiful architecture and symmetry that’s perfect for photography. We took these at the Connecticut State Capitol building right in the middle of Downtown Hartford. The building itself is gorgeous, and it’s right next to Bushnell Park, so if you’re looking for variety in your engagement photography it’s a great spot!
