Cody & Christina’s wedding at the DoubleTree by Hilton Boston was an absolutely gorgeous day. These two have incredible taste, with both the bride and groom wearing white, and the whole event saturated with gorgeous deep burgundy and lush green hues. It was classically beautiful, and I’ve been so looking forward to sharing this blog post with their wedding photos!
I always get excited when a couple that are fellow alumnus of Gordon College inquire with us for wedding photography. Gordon grads are usually some pretty cool kids, and Christina and Cody didn’t disappoint! Our first conversation with them made it clear that they had put thought and intention into their day, and we were so excited for what they had planned. Even though Cody and Christina are now living in and enjoying sunny Florida, they wanted to be officially married in New England. They actually had an intimate ceremony in the Bahamas last June – these two love one another so much, they got married twice!
Christina wore a cathedral length veil that flowed in the wind, and a gorgeous strapless dress from Lily’s Bridal in Orlando, FL. The delicate crystal details on her dress were stunning! The girls at Special Event Beauty gave her big curls and side swept braid that were completed with a beautiful rhinestone headpiece.
Cody wore layers of white with a simple burgundy boutonniere , and looked so incredible! His look was completed with a black bow tie, making a wonderfully classic and elegant look for the two of them.
Cody and Christina had their first look in what would be their ceremony space, with a backdrop of lovely greens and an archway of white and burgundy. First looks are always one of our favorite things to do. The first moment that a couple sees one another on their wedding day is so special and intimate!
I was completely obsessed with Christina’s bouquet, made by Katie Did Flowers in Milford, MA. The deep burgundy mixed with lush greens and a hint of white looked so incredible! We had some fun with the bridal party before the ceremony, who all wore dark colors that accented the white the Cody and Christina wore so beautifully. Bridesmaids wore burgundy to match their flowers, and the groomsmen were all in dark colors, which made the white of Cody’s suit stand out!
The flowers that Christina and her bridesmaids carried also looked perfect with their ceremony decor. Their ceremony was held in the courtyard at DoubleTree, in front of a lovely white archway created by Jeap of Lovely Occasions. Burgundy and white flowers lined the aisles, and complimented the deep burgundy burgundy of the bridesmaids dresses and flowers perfectly. Small crystal details hung from the archway, chairs and down the aisles that caught the light and sparkled.
Their flower girl and ring bearer were absolutely adorable, and took their jobs so seriously! I loved the little flowers that Selah, the flower girl, carried down the aisle – she was just so proud. Christina’s brother did a beautiful reading, and Cody’s father officiated their ceremony. Having such a person touch from family was beautiful, and you could feel how excited and happy the crowd was for them.
After their ceremony, we brought Cody and Christina to Louisa Lake Park for some photos of just the two of them. The park has beautiful greenery, which was perfect with their colors. Even more perfect were the picturesque swans floating in the lake! The blues and greens of the sky and lake complimented their neutral white and accents of burgundy, we love how elegant and classic their look was.
When Cody and Christina were married in the Bahamas, they took a photo just like the one below. So of course we had to re-create it for their second wedding!
Cody and Christina’s reception was back at the DoubleTree, where Jeap transformed the reception room into a gorgeous and romantic setting. Flowing white drapery was hung from the chandeliers and ceiling, and bright uplighting added to the elegant ambiance and sparkling crystals hanging from the ceiling. Tall, elegant vases adorned the tables, continuing their theme of burgundy and white. One of my favorite details was the crystals that hung from so many of the surfaces – the ceiling and flowers both sparkled with them.
If you’ve been keeping up with our blog, you already know that we love guests who want to dance! After the cake cutting and parent dances, Cody and Christina’s bridal party, family and friends jumped right onto the dance floor.
Congratulations Cody and Christina! We had so much fun celebrating with you both.
