We had our most recent Epic Engagement session with Emily and Steven, who are both teachers at the school where Chris and I met! Steven has such a contagious laugh that Chris and I both were grinning like fools for the entire session, so it’s no surprise there are a lot of photos with laughter in them.
We started at Ender’s State Forest in Granby, which is one of my favorite places for engagement photos. If you’re not into the forest look, then it won’t be for you, but anyone who loves a good hike or the outdoors will love it.
Emily and Steven followed us over waterfalls and through rivers to find the perfect location for photos. We even encountered a couple of campers suspended in hammocks from trees who were kind enough to let us use their campground for these waterfall shots!
Once we were finished at Ender’s we went to our second location – the Barkhamsted Reservoir.
There’s a reason the Barkhamsted Reservoir is so popular for photos (it may or may not be where Chris and I took our prom pictures, and no, we won’t be sharing those here…) It’s absolutely gorgeous!
The huge castle-like structure reminds me of Harry Potter and Game of Thrones, which is a huge plus in my book, and makes it a truly magical place for engagement photos.
I always call these “twinkle lights” which Chris gives me no end of grief for (it really does sound ridiculous.) Emily referred to them as “fairy lights”, which besides sounding 100% better was perfect for such a storybook castle place!
Congratulations, Emily and Steven!
